Staff & Faculty Eco-Reps' October Session: Go Solar At Home

The first Staff & Faculty Eco-Reps event of the year has been confirmed and has open invitation for all staff and faculty! Solarize Philly and Penn Home Ownership Services (PHOS) will discuss what resources are available to the University's staff and faculty as Philadelphia and West Philadelphia residents, respectively, for transitioning their home to solar. Staff & Faculty Eco-Reps are asked to invite other interested staff and faculty to attend.

Go Solar at Home Event

 

Kleinman Center for Energy Policy will host the Staff & Faculty Eco-Reps in the Energy Forum on Thursday, October 27th, 12 p.m.-1 p.m. There is a maximum capacity of 60 people for in-person registration. In addition, a virtual ticket option is also available. Boxed lunch will be provided for in-person participants.

Solarize Philly:

  • Discuss Philadelphia Energy Authority's (PEA) Solarize Philly initiative and how to participate
  • Learn how to receive a free solar assessment
  • Ownership and leasing options available for home solar arrays
  • 30% Investment Tax Credit (check with your tax professional if you qualify for this incentive)
  • Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SRECs) generated by your solar PV system
  • *Solarize Philly is restricted to Philadelphia residents.*

Penn Home Ownership Services (PHOS):

  • Learn what benefits for home ownership and home improvements the University provides its employees who reside within the program boundaries in West Philadelphia
  • Discuss how eligible employees can receive up to $7,500 for use towards home improvements including energy audits or retrofit
  • *PHOS benefits are restricted to Penn employees who reside in West Philadelphia geographical boundary.*
