Penn receives $10M to strengthen urban research locally and globally
The funds will support the Institute for Urban Research’s advancement of research, education, and policy solutions for cities.

The University of Pennsylvania’s Institute for Urban Research (Penn IUR) has received a $10 million anonymous gift to advance research, education, and policy solutions for the cities of today and tomorrow.
The endowed funds will support one of Penn IUR’s co-director positions and a postdoctoral fellowship, enhancing the Institute’s ability to address timely urban opportunities and challenges. Among these issues today are housing affordability, anchor institutions, regional and municipal fiscal stability, and financing urban climate resilience. Read more in Penn Today.
